Kruger trails, bush walks and nights drives
While on your private safari, Tread Lightly Tours and Safaris can organise a night drive, an early morning or late afternoon bush walk from our camp or for something a little more rugged, a 3 night backpacking or trails camp mini adventure.
All of the above are conducted by South African National Parks and are subject to availability and weather conditions. We will be able to organise morning/afternoon walks and night drives while on safari but the trails need to be booked well in advance.

A private
Your adventure completed in your own private open safari vehicle is a very special and rewarding wilderness experience.
Tread Lightly Tours and Safaris bring a relaxing personal safari experience to you at a pace only Africa dictates. We'll plan, book and even cook for you while we take you on a great value for money Kruger wildlife experience in your own private open safari vehicle and where all accommodation is en-suite (except when you choose overnight bush walks!)
We don't recommend more than 6 guests per vehicle (the vehicle will take 9), so 2 people per row, this ensures you have space and comfort but if your group is larger contact us for a plan.

is enormous so we really do recommend AT LEAST 4 nights in the bush otherwise your stay really isn't long enough for you to even begin to enjoy and appreciate the diversity, tranquility and................ But, well, if that's all the time you have then we want to give you a truly fulfilling experience. Unless otherwise requested, these tours commence from O.R.T. (Johannesburg) International Airport.
We depart the airport mid-morning and spend one night outside the Kruger Park en-route to Punda Maria Gate.
The remaining 10 days are spent in Kruger National Park utilising South African National Parks accommodation facilities which provide comfortable, air-conditioned, en-suite and daily serviced accommodation.
Depending on availability, wildlife distribution and local weather conditions we generally spend 2 nights at Punda Maria Rest Camp which gives us an opportunity to explore Crooks Corner. We then slowly head south taking in Shingwedzi Rest Camp 2 nights, Olifants Rest Camp 2 nights, Satara Rest Camp 1 night.
The last 2 nights are spent at one of the other 9 rest camps in the southern section of Kruger Park.
The tour ends on the morning of the 11th day where we liaise with our guests to arrange the most convenient drop-off location.
Within easy reach of all the southern exit points of Kruger Park is the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) where daily frequent flights connect to Johannesburg International and other domestic and international destinations.
