Pretoriuskop Rest Camp - Kruger Park
Pretoriuskop Rest Camp
Situated on the south western border of Kruger National Park; this camp is one of the oldest camps in Kruger and is easily accessible via the entry gate.
The region is dominated by ancient granite outcrops and sandy soils which host tall sour grass (not the best grazing), Silver Cluster Leaf interspersed with Marula, Kiaat and Bushwillow trees and Sickle bush.
Game viewing can be difficult during the summer rainy season (November - March) as the region has the highest annual rainfall in Kruger and the grasses grow tall (2m) so traveling with us in an open safari game viewing vehicle offers the best possible opportunities for game viewing.
The Pretoriuskop area is also a region where rare Sable antelope may occasionally be spotted and during January and February, good size herds of elephants can be found feasting on the ripe Marula tree fruits.
